B.P. PODDAR INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT & TECHNOLOGY: FIRST STEPS

Established in 1999, B.P.P.I.M.T. (as it is fondly called by its students) is one of the leading private engineering colleges in West Bengal. Over the last seven years, this Kolkata-based institute has managed to display excellent results, both in academics and extra curricular activities.

The college has two campuses; the main campus is situated on VIP Road, near the Netaji Subhas International Airport, while the second campus is in Sector Five, Salt Lake.

Affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), the college offers B.Tech degree courses in Electronics & Communication Engg, Electrical Engg, Computer Science & Engg and Information Technology. The second campus caters to students opting for BCA (Bachelor in Computer Applications) and BBA (Bachelor in Business Administration) courses. As of 2010-11 session, the only Masters-level course offered is that of MCA (Master in Computer Applications).

THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

 The fourth batch of students graduated in the 2005-06 academic session. As always, glorious results and excellent job offers were the hallmark of the batch. As the moment of separation came nearer, the necessity for a platform was being strongly felt, where all ex-students of B.P.P.I.M.T could come and interact with each other.

 Finally, on 24th September 2006, the Alumni Association of B.P.P.I.M.T was inaugurated, in the presence of college Principal Prof. S.C. Chakravarti, renowned sculptor Mrs. Uma Siddhant and Mr. Amit Dutta, the then Director(Professional Services), Connectiva Systems. Inspite of their busy schedule and inclement weather, quite a good number of alumni witnessed this historic occasion.

 Congratulations to all those alumni who are constantly juggling their office-work and alumni association-related matters efficiently. We hope, in future, this Association turns out to be an organization of international repute.
